Research technician

Research
Since 2024 I am working as a research technician on the topic of anti-tumor therapy. In the project that I work on we investigate how we can modulate different complement inhibitors on tumor cells in order to achieve enhanced complement activation and tumor clearance. In addition, I will be working on the functionality of antibody-based cellular depletion using both in vitro and in vivo experiments.
Curriculum Vitae
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in 2023 from the University of applied Sciences in Leiden. During my studies I obtained my article 6, I gained practical experience during a 9-month internship at the department of Immunology, in the team working on complement and antibodies. My project was focused on unravelling the mechanism behind (auto-) antibody formation and how the complement system is involved during these immunological processes.
After graduation I started working at the department of Dermatology in the LUMC where we investigated the biological and therapeutic role of the CD47-SIRPa axis as an immune checkpoint inhibitor in order to understand the biology behind anti-tumor immunotherapy (generating Crispr-Cas9 cell lines, phagocytosis, flowcytometry). Since August 2024, I (re)joined the group of Prof. Trouw at the Department of Immunology, to work again on complement and antibodies.
