Research

As a research technician in the Salerno group, I study how the tumor microenvironment influences CD4 T cell differentiation and effector function. To do this, I combine in vivo mouse models with in vitro culture systems to advance our understanding of the cellular and molecular mechanisms that impair CD4 T cell functionality in cancer.

Curriculum Vitae

After completing my laboratory college education at ROC Leiden, where I was trained as a biotechnician (niveau 4), I pursued a degree in Biomedical Science at the Hogeschool Leiden. During this time, I completed a 9-month internship in the group of dr. Bruno Guigas at the Department of Parasitology (LUMC), where I studied the effects of different diets on diabetes and developed a strong interest in immunology. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in 2022, and shortly afterward, I joined the Department of Immunology as a research technician under the supervision of Prof. Ferry Ossendorp. In this role, I learned to apply both in vitro and in vivo models to study the impact of vaccines and cancer on the immune system. Since April 2025, I am a research technician in the group of Dr. Fiamma Salerno.
