Dr.

I finished my PhD in immunology and genetics at University of São Paulo (São Paulo, Brazil) and Research Center for Molecular Medicine of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (Vienna, Austria), focused with the discovery of new genetic-molecular defects in patients with clinical diagnosis of Primary Immunodeficiency. After my doctorate, I was invited to accept a position as a Researcher at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein (São Paulo, Brazil), where I conducted a project related to discoveries of new PIDs, and started the project to set up a Gene Therapy Nucleus at the HIAE, initially using Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID) patients. After successfully finish nine years of research and teaching experience in the field of Immunology and genetics,  I started looking a new challenge for my research and academic career. Today I'm a Postdoctoral Research Scientist from Prof. Dr. Frank Staal group at Leiden Medical University Center (Leiden, Netherlands), where I'm involved in different projects, focused with refinement the knowledge of human T cell development, the discovery of new Primary Immunodeficiency, and the development of Gene therapy for PID patients.
