Associate Professor
Dr. Yanling Xiao studied Medicine and obtained her MD at Tongji Medical University (China). She subsequently carried out her PhD at Oita Medical University (Japan) in the Department of Otolaryngology, under the supervision of Prof. Goro Mogi. After completing her doctoral training, she joined the laboratory of Prof. Jannie Borst at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in 1999, where she progressed from postdoctoral researcher to senior scientist.
In 2013, Dr. Yanling Xiao was appointed Associate Staff Scientist at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. In 2014, she undertook a four-month sabbatical as a visiting faculty member in the laboratory of Prof. Matt van de Rijn at Stanford University. In July 2019, Dr. Yanling Xiao joined the Department of Immunology at the Leiden University Medical Center as Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor in January 2026.
