Postdoctoral researcher

My research mainly focuses on deciphering the mechanisms of action of DNA vaccines for cancer therapy. This research is a collaboration with Immunetune, a pre-clinical stage biotech company developing personalized DNA vaccines to fight cancer. To understand the tumor-specific immune responses and their effectiveness, we perform pre-clinical in vivo studies using mouse models. Currently, I study the mode of action of a genetic adjuvant which efficiently protects mice against tumor challenge.
After obtaining my Bachelor (2010) in “Sciences in Earth and Life Sciences” in Beirut, Lebanon, I completed my Masters (2014) in “Cellular and Molecular Biology” in Paris. During my MSc thesis, I studied the implications of YAP/Hippo signaling in LaminA-Congenital Muscular Dystrophy in the Institute of Myology. Following my education, I conducted my doctoral studies at Luxembourg Institute of Health in Luxembourg, in affiliation with Paris-Saclay University. My research was mainly focused on studying the “impact of targeting the autophagy related gene Beclin 1 on the immune landscape of melanoma”. After completing my PhD (2018), I moved to The Netherlands and I started my post-doc in October 2018 at LUMC, in Prof. F. Ossendorp’s group.
