RESEARCH
Since 2010 I’m working as a technician in the peptide facility of the Department Immunology in the group of Dr.J.W. Drijfhout. My main tasks include synthesis of the peptides (including modified and labeled peptides) using different types of synthesizers. In addition, I perform the quality control of these products using mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF) and liquid chromatography (UPLC-MS). I’m also involved in the purification of synthetic peptides using preparative HPLC. My other tasks include managing our chemical inventory, maintenance of the synthesizers, lab management and administrative work.
CURRICULUM VITAE
I’ve obtained my bachelor degree in Chemistry at the Saxion Hogeschool in Deventer. I did my first internship at Radboud University Nijmegen in the group of Prof dr. F.P.J.T. Rutjes where I focused on the synthesis of allysine ethylene acetal as an essential building block for the synthesis of functionalized piperidines. My second internship was at Schering Plough (MSD) Oss in the group of Dr. J.F. Vader, where I did my research on the synthesis and identification of a thienopyrimidinone derivate and its tautomeric forms.
