Prof. Tom Ottenhoff is a leading expert in infectious disease immunology, internationally recognized for his contributions to the understanding of host-pathogen interactions in tuberculosis. He served as Professor of Immunology of Infectious Diseases at the Department, where he led a research group focused on T-cell immunity, antigen discovery, and vaccine development against Mycobacterium tuberculosis. After 2009, he moved to Department of Infectious Diseases. His work has significantly advanced the field of translational immunology and contributed to global efforts in TB control. Prof. Ottenhoff played a key role in several international research consortia and advisory boards.
