Prof. Ilias Doxiadis currently is Professor of Immunology at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany. He formerly was Associate Professor for Immunology and Managing Director of the Eurotransplant Reference Laboratory, at the Leiden University Medical Center. His research focuses on transplantation immunology, with an emphasis on antibody-mediated organ rejection, as well as on HLA antibody detection and epitope-based matching strategies. He has played a key role in improving transplant outcomes through refined histocompatibility testing and continues to contribute as a consultant in histocompatibility and immunogenetics at the University Hospital Leipzig.
