He has received this honorary doctorate because of his contribution to developing new immunodiagnostics during the last decades.
The Charles University has a long history. Founded in 1348, it is one of oldest universities in the world still existing since foundation. To get the doctorate from this ancient and historically important university makes it even more honorable. The ceremony has not yet taken place due to COVID-19, but will hopefully follow later this year.
