Set in an inspiring environment, the retreat gave participants the opportunity to reflect on past achievements, evaluate the present, and plan for the future. The agenda covered key aspects of departmental development, including finance, talent development, (future)research focus, education/industry/culture, labs/operations, and personnel/HRM. Each session was co-led by two PIs who had prepared through multiple discussions and brainstorming sessions, fostering a collaborative format that encouraged open dialogue and active engagement.
Throughout the day, participants held in-depth discussions on current challenges and future opportunities, agreeing on practical, actionable strategies. The retreat also strengthened collaboration within the PI team and reinforced a shared sense of mission. The day was both strategic and inspiring. The team had reached a clear consensus on priorities and left energized to move forward together. A celebratory dinner provided a fitting conclusion to a productive and inspiring retreat.
