Curriculum vitae

In 2019, I obtained my PhD at the University Medical Center Groningen and the University of Groningen, where my research focused on B cells in autoimmunity. Following my PhD, I spent six years as a postdoctoral researcher at Monash University in Melbourne. During the first five years, I investigated gamma delta T cell biology, primarily in the context of infectious disease. Subsequently, I conducted 1.5 years of postdoctoral research on allergen-specific B cells and their role in allergen immunotherapy in allergic patients.

Throughout this period, I supervised three PhD students, managed a small research team, and published several scientific articles. I was also a member of various scientific committees and acted as a reviewer for multiple scientific journals. During my scientific career, I have gained extensive experience in flow cytometry, in particular the phenotypic and functional characterization of immune cell subsets.

In 2024, I started my current position as a medical immunologist in training (laboratory specialist medical immunology). I am employed at the HLA laboratory of Leiden University Medical Center, with my training taking place across several departments within the LUMC, as well as at Erasmus Medical Center and Reinier Haga Hospital in Delft. During this three-year training programme, I will focus on transplantation, immunodeficiencies, and hematological malignancies.
